Battery Disposal Instructions
Notice on the Disposal of Used Batteries
The following notice is addressed to those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and do not resell them in the delivered form (end users):
1. Free Return of Used Batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can return used batteries to a municipal collection point or to local retailers. We, as distributors of batteries, are also obliged to accept used batteries; however, our acceptance obligation is limited to batteries of the type that we currently sell or have sold as new batteries. You can therefore either return such used batteries to us sufficiently prepaid by mail or hand them in free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address stated in the imprint.
2. Meaning of Battery Symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out trash bin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005% mercury, more than 0.002% cadmium, or more than 0.004% lead by weight, the chemical symbol of the hazardous substance is displayed below the trash bin symbol – „Cd” stands for cadmium, „Pb” for lead, and „Hg” for mercury.
